Ship can stand vertically in the water!!

Do you imagine that it can be for a ship to stand vertically on the surface of the water while in the depth of the sea?

Photo good answer to this question:

FLIP research vessel is the only ship in the world that have the ability to switch from horizontal to vertical position while in the water! What makes this information is surprising is that FLIP is not a small vessel, but a length of about 108 meters and weighs 700 tons!!

The engineers Sophisticated design to be able to go to the vertical position straight 90 degrees so that the bow of the vessel at the top, up 17 meters (an increase of a building of 5 floors), while the tail submerged partially in the water along the 91 meters, which means that most part of the ship is submerged in the water which helps to steady the ship and its resistance to waves.

Transformation process takes about 28 minutes, which is pumping sea water to large reservoirs in the back of the ship, making it dive into the water to become a ship in the upright position, and we watch a video explains the process of transformation:

Skill of its designers appear here again, where they ship design rooms and baths and kitchens so that they are valid for the development of horizontal and vertical!

FLIP does not have engines, but you need to another ship for its withdrawal, has been designed in order to study the waves and audio signals and the temperature inside the water and the collection of meteorological data. Curiously, it is not modern technology at all, but the Scripps Institution of Oceanography their manufacture in June 1962, was developed in the 1995 budget and reached for 2 million dollars!
